Mr. Erik Barnes

Erik Barnes has been working in the people development industry in the greater China area for more than 6 years. He is an experienced facilitator and trainer on Team Strategy, Leading Effective Teams, Team Building, Change Management and Communications. Erik uses experiential learning and/or simulations in all of his programs to ensure the highest impact. Erik is the creator of the popular Village Game and other simulations.

Currently Erik is supporting the Microsoft leadership programs for the Greater China Region. Fluent in Mandarin, in this role he helps familiarize newly hired sales, marketing and services employees with Microsoft’s organization, culture and sales tools.

Since early 2005, Erik has been supporting Executive Learning Center in implementing learning solutions to our various customers. He has coached a variety of people from sales to R&D in leadership skills. In his projects he has helped coach people new to leadership, people undertaking special projects and high potentials. Erik was a co-creator of the “MOSH” system of coaching, which focuses on turning leadership behaviors into habits.

Erik is among the founding members of the Shanghai Professional Speakers Association. He was the president of the Dynamic Mandarin Toastmasters club before he took his current role as the Area Governor for the China East 1 area.

Erik has an MBA in International Business from Pepperdine University, the #2 MBA program in the world for Organization Behavior according to The Financial Times. He studied there with a full-tuition scholarship.

He also has BA degrees in International Studies and French from the University of Idaho where he studied on scholarship.

Erik currently has his Advanced Communicator Silver and Advanced Leader Bronze awards from Toastmasters International.

Erik has recently provided training with the following companies: Microsoft, Intel, Dell, Philips Lighting, Motorola, Fuji-Xerox, Bayer and Tesa, Johnson & Johnson Medical and Continental Automotive Systems.
